Yes, I'm actually posting something. I'm such a slacker, its not that we aren't doing anything worth blogging, its just that I have chosen to do other things with my time. But I do want to stick with my highlighting a reader thing so I have to do at least on post to do that. So really, that is my motivation. I mostly will post pictures. And WOW has it been a while since I even downloaded pictures from my camera!

and I am most happy to announce UN SWADDLING!!! Cardon has not been able to sleep unless he has been swaddled. I have been wrapping him in my belly band and velcroing him tight! If he got out at all he would wake up. Well it was getting dangerous and just ridiculous so we broke him out it. It was a sad day..er week... ish. But we got past it and he's doing great!
Quick funny Kade story. Some of you have already heard this but its worth telling again I believe. Plus my crazy mom brain might not remember it in years to come. Anyways... At church on Sunday I had Kade out in the foyer for some reason or another. As we were walking back in I told him to please fold his arms. So he walked down the whole isle with his arms sticking straight out to his sides. He sure knows how to show me doesn't he?!?!?

I've been a horrible blogger and the pod thing was a bust but I want to keep up the reader highlighter thing. Perhaps I'll pick up with the pod thing again one day. :)

Kasey recently moved into our ward here in Ogden and she really is amazing! You wont believe her story. They were married for ten months and had twins. Ten months later and another set of twins!! Then like sixteen months later had another baby! FIVE KIDS UNDER THREE!!! Now you agree with me don't you? :) She takes all five kids shopping by herself, she does crafts with them, she braves church by herself and takes them on walks! I think I would be doing pretty well to have all kinds dressed by the time we needed to get ready for bed!! She is a sweet, fun person and I'm so glad she moved into our ward!

6 months old!!!

My little bean is six months! I seriously can't believe we are halfway through the first year! I wont go into detail because we all say the same types of things all the time! Its just unbelievable how fast everything happens! Anyways this boy is so dang cute! He is SO happy! Always smiling! And he is busy, of course. I thought Kade was busy. He was and still is. This is kind of a different busy. People are church hold him and they always say something like "he is wiggly!" or "he moves a lot!". People also often comment on his busy little legs, they dont stop moving! He's always kicking! But he is a content type of busy. He just rolls around and plays all over the living room. He loves to play with toys but more than anything he loves to play with wrappers, packing and bags. I'm there with him, dont worry. When we are eating a bag of carrots he has to play with the bag. He's funny because if he sees something across the room that he wants he just goes nuts! Those legs start going bizerk and he is jumping and reaching as if he thinks he could get to it. We are learning now to figure out what he wants a little sooner. The cute thing is though that he isn't vocal about it, he grunts a bit but he is honestly trying to get it himself. Kade did and still is VERY vocal about things. When Cardon is on the floor and a toy is out of his reach he doesn't freak out about it he just kicks and squirms trying to get it. SO, the point of that long paragraph was to tell you that he is contently busy. Got it?

He is always making this face, perhaps he's just really focused.

I realized I forgot to do a post about somebody for May, a week late but here it is! I love this game because its so funny to see who I draw, its so random!! Shanda and I had a class together in college at SLCC. Yes, I went to college ha! Actually we had a couple. We were both in the elementary education program and we had the gym class together and children's literature. Both probably my favorite classes in the small amount of college I went to. We had so much fun together! The gym class was a child gym class so we played parachutes, crab ball and random games like that. We had so much fun together pretending like we were in elementary school together. I started dating Alex towards the end of that semester and Shanda was always so cute and listened to my giddy stories about him! Its crazy that we have kept in touch for so many years thanks to Facebook and blogger! She has a little boy in the middle of my boys and she is such a great fun Mom! She is an amazing crafter, something I'm REALLY not so its fun to see what she does! We have no pictures together unfortunately so I'll just post a random one of her and her cute boy. (hope you don't mind;) )

Lately, Alex has been working VERY hard in the yard (when the weather is cooperative). He was saying something about feeling like he would never get the extra yard projects done because there was just so much to do. I told him I knew exactly how he felt! And not to take away from his hard hard work, but I told him to imagine starting again each day and everything you did the day before has been undone! It makes it nearly impossible to get to those EXTRA projects!

Humor me...

The dishes you washed are now dirty
The fridge you filled is now empty
The nose you wiped is again snotty
The drawers filled with clean, organized clothes are now disorganized and empty
The hamper you emptied is now full (I will never understand how a certain someone LOVES laundry!!)
The toys you picked up are again scattered
The meal you cook is no longer, and it is time to make another
The floor you moped (minutes ago) is now sticky

You get the idea and are familiar I'm sure. At the end of the day there is no PROOF! I tell Alex I feel like I just run around in circles all day long. The things I do, don't grab your attention like a newly planted flower bed, or some other glamorous project.

I know I know most of you are thinking "try adding a few extra kids to that!" Yes I will and I fully expect things to get worse!

In fact I was speaking of this subject to my Mother recently she said "Oh, Danelle! How I dreamed this day would come and you would understand!"

Allthough there isn't proof ... there is satisfaction.

And there are times when things like this happen.

All those things are reminders to me that there really is proof! I'm not just running around in circles. And there really is something glamorous about this project.

I can keep doing those same things day to day even if there isn't proof because even though those things don't bring me happiness and joy.... they really do!

So I was actually going to just post a picture of Cardon now and Kade at the same age because I feel like they are starting to look more and more alike. So as I was looking at Kades 4 month pictures I was amazed at how much they really DO look alike. When Cardon was born I didn't think they looked much alike but in these pictures they really do!

Then I thought at about 1 month they didnt look alike but the do a bit, not as much as they do now though!

So here they are at about four months. I put Cardon in the same shirt just for fun.

I can certainly still tell them apart but maybe that is because I'm the Mom. Can you?? Too bad there are dates are some pictures... haha!

Oh and while looking for a baby picture of Cardon I realized my whole file of December 2011 pictures is gone!! I'm hoping we can recover it somehow! It might be on the old computer. I hope I hope I hope I hope. I feeling sick about it right now!

So I did a drawing for all the comments for the month of April! Its actually kind of fun because I was thinking about all the wonderful things about all of you as I wrote down your names. You guys

are all awesome just so you know. But for April my friend Sharli is the winner! I'm so excited!

I just love Sharli. She is probably one of the most hilarious and random people I know! We knew each other in Jr. High and were in band together. I remember going to her house one time. But then she moved away and that was that. THEN in the summer of 2006 I showed up for my first week of EFY to find Sharli there! We started visiting a bit and worked most of our sessions together. We rode together to Provo and ended being co-counselors for my very last session! That was by far my most favorite session! We had a blast and laughed probably more than all of my EFY weeks! Sharli is seriously hilarious! We had so much fun together sharing funny stories about our girls and staying up late and partying with them! She is just always a fun person to be around! I love reading her blog because she is hilarious even there! I would share it but I'm not sure if she wants me to.... But Sharli rocks!!! So there you have it!

So I have a friend that does this gold star contest for her blog and whoever has the most gold stars at the end of the "blog year" wins! She does a really nice post about them and it got me thinking. I wonder what she would write about me? Vain I know! Then I thought everyone likes what people think of them right?! And we all need to hear positive things once in a while. So then I thought it would be fun to randomly do a post about my readers like once a month or so. Then I was thinking why don't I do a drawing every month and whoever and then do a post about the name I draw out, not to make it a contest but because that's the best random selection way I could come up with. So.. for every comment for the month I'll put your name in a drawing and then at the end of the month I'll do a post about you!

The P.O.D
Growing up we had something called the S.O.D. Without fail someone would always spill a glass of water at dinner time and so became the "Spill of the day" thus the S.O.D Enter P.O.D My other thought was that I wanted to do something a little different-ish for my blog. I'm lame and whenever I post its a smorgasbord of pictures a whole lot of words. So I'm going to post a "Picture of the Day". To be realistic it probably but be everyday. But rather than a catch up of random things I am going to post a picture here and there of our day to day things. Just cute pictures that don't fit anywhere else besides a smorgasbord I suppose.

Again these are my cousins girls who have been watching a few days a week lately. Kade loves having friends over and they find the funniest "games" to play together!

My Tater is two!!!

Its crazy its been two years, this boy is such a delight! Here are some of our favorite things about Kade

He is full of zest and enthusiasm! He is intense and most of the time he is intensly happy, every so often he is intense on the other end of the scale.

He has passion, or fixation. This will be a great thing if we can keep him fixated on good things in life. I know he will go far because he is determined to do whatever it is he wants to do.

He loves to pray! He says a whole prayer by himself in whisper of course. He mentions random things that he says and sometimes mentions random people. But he always prays for Mommy, Daddy and Cardon probably about 8 times or so each. Before meals he reminds us to pray, sometimes we pray three or four times. I'm just glad he likes to pray!

He is a little jabber mouth! Some of his words he says in such a funny way! For example window is foonah, ernie is eenaw, shoes - foos and thats all I can think of now. But the funny thing is if we ask him several times because we don't understand what he is saying he often says it the correct way. Silly goose!

He knows 16 letters of the alphabet and loves to count. We didn't know he could count but one time alex counted to five and then Kade yelled "Six!" But he doesn't know how to count in order past three. Other than that its the typical six nine eight four six nine six eight...

His immagination is really coming out, its hilarious! One day I was cleaning the kithen and he had all the pots and pans out on the floor. He was standing in one and said "Mommy, I shower!" Or another time he was riding a little pink tupperware around making horsey noises and saying "Forsee". One more ; yesterday he was eating lunch and doing wierd things with his kidney beans. Come to find out they were swimming haha! I just love that he imagines things.

He loves to cook and to do the dishes. Meaning stir random things in a bowl and just play in the sink. He usually brings Dad a cup of "sauce".

He LOOOOVES to dance. Always has. His favorite song is Dynamite by Taio Cruz, he sings along and knows a lot of the words. He also loves to dance along to Madagascar and Ken trying on his clothes on Toy Story 3. He calls them the "Dancing party!"

He is not easily distracted, he remembers everything! The other day I unplugged the TV and I told him it was broken. I know i'm awful! After the millionth time of being asked to fix it I told him Daddy would fix it when he got home. Several hours later Kade heard the door opening and ran to Dad to ask him to fix the TV. It was the first thing he said to him. His memory amazes me!

Every morning when I pull out an outfit to get him dressed he shakes his head and says "No fit you." He must have picked that up from his last growth spurt!

He's a tease, fitting for an April fools baby I suppose. For example again; at night I go in to cover him when he's asleep. He rolled over and looked up at me and I said "I love you Kade". He got his smirk on his face and said "I love you...... chicken" then laughed. Hes so funny!

When he does something well he says "Good boy!"

He is a little bit OCD about being clean, sometimes. Often times he will go in his room and start singing "Nee ma, nee ma evv bodies" - the clean up song and he will just clean his room. Often times he throws a fit when there is food on his bib and asks for a new one. Often times he will wake up in the morning and ask me to wash his binki. - yes he still sleeps with his binki, but you should hear the way that kid giggles when he has it in his grubby little hands!

Every morning when I walk in to get him he says "Ha morning!...no, GOOOOD morning!"

Hes says "yeah" or "yup" at the end of most of his sentances or whenever Alex and I are talking. He just has to be part of our conversation its hilarious.

Sometimes he calls his Dad Alex haha!

Hes a little dare devil. He likes to swing with out hands, jump up and down on the slide and one time I turned around to see him swinging from the bar about 5 -6 feet off the ground. He freaks me out!

He LOVES his little brother! He kisses him at least a thousand times a day. He likes to "cuddle Cardons tummy" by lying on it. When Cardon is lying on the floor Kade is right there on his tummy talking to him, he thinks its hilarious. Cardon usually smiles back at him and I usually cry. Its so cute to see them together already. Today Kade was playing catch with him, tossing the ball by him and picking it up again. When Kade wakes up in the morning he always asks where Cardon is. In fact I'll never forget the first night Cardon was home Kade woke up in the middle of the night and when I went in there he asked where his brother was. I thought it was so sweet. I'm excited to see them become buds!

He makes the funniest faces! He always has his tongue out when he is running, dancing jumping or whatever.

He has to run, jump or do his hop/skip thing everywhere he goes, he doesn't walk anywhere.

Anyways I could go on and on about how much I love this little boy! Congrats to those of you who made it through this whole thing. Now for the good part. Yeah, its hard to tell. He is such a sweet boy I didn't realize how sick he was. He has been such a good sport. In fact when I took him in Sunday night he was just laughing waiting for the Dr. to come in. The nurses couldn't get over how happy he was and said he was such a charmer. The worst part of the hospital visit was the exray. Have any of you taken your wee in for one of those? Its awful. They put him in this plastic tube thing that had him sitting up and his arms above his head. He screamed and I sat behing the wall crying myself. So sad. They sent us home with this nebulizer, a bugger sucker machine (AWESOME!!) and some steroids. He LOVES the breathing treatment. They said it might make him wired but he totally relaxes when we turn it not, not so much the case with the bugger sucker though! He is doing much better and is still a happy guy!! To think we ALMOST made it through RSV season!

Oh, and on top of all that he has cut a tooth! I didn't even know it was coming! Hes such a good sport!

Kade's new fad. He climbs up in his chair and says buckle you. You would think he was going to buckly you, but now he wants to buckle himself. I guess he got that from how he hears it. He can do it, sometimes it takes several minutes. But he doesn't give up. There are a few... several frustrated screams while he is trying.

Tada!!! Its very exciting when you finally "buckle you"! "Again"!

Annnnnd that is how our day has gone. I'm not joking when I tell you he has "Buckled you" for at least an hour today!

I haven't been a really great blogger lately. I hate to see I'm busy because I have the same amount of time in my day as everyone else. We all have things that need to be done. I've just been doing other things rather than blogging, a lot of that involving cleaning and laundry, something we all do so well right?

I can't help but feel really blessed lately. We have such a great life. I see so much hurt and commotion around us. Japan, people losing loved ones and many friends and family among trials. I just feel so grateful for what we have. I love my little family and our life, I really couldn't wish for anything better.
Here are a few pictures as of late. We went to Colorado last week to visit Alex's brother and his family. We love being there and love love spending time with them. I just wish they lived closer!!

This is Miss Adelaide. She and Cardon are only 8 days apart. Aren't they so cute?

We went to Garden of the Gods. Its this free national park type thing and it made for a perfect Sunday evening walk!

This is at the balancing rock. I just love the scenery behind it! This is out of order of course (Yay blogger!). This little boy has been known to OCCASIONALLY get fixated on things and in this case it was a blue cup! haha! We have no clue what got him thinking that but he was refused to be...cooperative. So he got hauled off. It was time to leave anyways haha! I just love this picture though!

I just love pictures of them walking together. Its hard to tell but Kade is running in this picture. He was trying to hard to keep up with Connor and Orson and they are pretty quick. Kade was running so stinking fast, too fast actually and he biffed it like a few thousand times. But he popped right back up and tried to catch up with them again. Isn't Alex sick?!? haha, I can't really pull that off can I?

Kade had to climb up into the stroller to give his brother some love! Then he was back to running. Kade and Tens, they were so cute playing together! Don't be fooled, he was only in that stroller for maybe 3 minutes and then he was back to running with the boys.

Is this not the cutest picture you ever did see? Kade spent probably 90 percent of his waking hours outside with his cousins. He was in heaven! They have this ball tied to a string hanging from a tree that he would hit with a baseball and he thought it was awesome! He kept saying "Mommy, mommy, mommy, Daddy,Daddy watch me! here it comes! Woo hoo!! hahahah! watch Mommy woo hoo! I'm running! Oopsie! I hit it! Watch me woo hoo!" He thought it was great!

This is Kade's new thing. First of all he sleeps with a gajillion things! He has like 3 blankies, a bear, a baby bear, tigger, some books,a flashlight to look at the books, a picture of Aunt Marne' and of course the bink. He likes to pile them all up at one end of the crib and lie or sit on top of them. Quite often he falls asleep like that and I think its quite funny. I just would love to know what goes on inside his crazy little head! This dude is getting so cute! I never did a 3 month post, maybe it was denial and maybe it was because we were out of town... Idk. But he's 3 months now! To celebrate he has been sleeping 12 hours at night since his 3 month b-day! He's awesome! He wakes up so happy!

I watch my cousins girls a couple of times a week. Kade loves having friends over and I am LOVING teaching him NOT to hit. :) We are getting there. They all really do have a good time together and I love seeing what they come up with!

We went sledding a few weeks ago and it was seriously one of the funnest days in my life! I actually like snow when I have kids to enjoy it with!

This song came on as we were listening to primary music and getting ready for church the other day. Kade recognized it was about his Dad so we listened to it a few million times. He really does adore his Dad! This song is perfect for them and I really do hope that he does become like his Dad in every way!

My Daddy is my favorite pal,

I keep telling my kids to stop growing but I think they are ignoring me! Am I the only one with that problem? :) At leasts he keeps getting cuter right? He is such a great baby! To celebrate his two month birthday he slept ten hours last night! He is such a great sleeper. He has been doing nine hours at night for the last couple of weeks. He is such a sweet happy boy. He is smiling and talking tons now. I can tell he is a determined little boy as he is very particular. He knows just the way he likes things. He will be fussy and I will move him to a different position and he immediately stops crying. He is a strong dude and holds up his head all by himself now. We sure love him to pieces!

Of course I didn't take pictures of the festivities, I really wish I would have so we could remember everyone there that day and how the looked and such. But here are some cute pictures of my boys and our little family. It was such a great day! I couldn't have had it better. It made me fall so much more in love with my cute family! I guess I forgot that babies grow and change! I guess I thought I would have a baby and didn't think past that. So why am I so surprised that he is growing up?! Everyone says it but I CAN'T BELIEVE ITS BEEN A MONTH!

Here are just some random pictures over the last month. We sure do love this boy so so much! He is really SO sweet. He is my little cuddle bug and I love it. He loves to snuggle and loves to be swaddled, he wakes up if he gets un-swaddled. Kade hated cuddling and being swaddled, they are already so different!

Just some evidence of the brotherly love. Kade asks to hold him all the time and is always asking where is baby is and giving him kisses. I love this picture, actually I love them all and that is why they are on here!

Frosting cookies Christmas Eve. Kade actually got into it more than I thought he would. Yes he dumped out all the sprinkles on his tray, but it was worth it because he had a blast!

I'm biased but I love our cute little family!! We feel so very blessed! It was a great Christmas to have a new little on added to our family!
He really does love his little brother! It really makes me so happy! That is all the picture I have from Christmas day! I am so bad at taking pictures when we go out places. But we spent time with my family and Alexs Mom on Christmas day and we got to talk to Alex's sister Marne' who is on a mission in Kentucky. It was an awesome day!!

Kade always has to come sit by me when I am feeding Cardon. It is so sweet... and sometimes difficult. :) But mostly sweet, he just loves his little brother so much he has to be by him all the time!
We can't get over how tiny Cardon seems to us. He is a normal size but compared to Kade he seems itty bitty to us. This cute little bear outfit is from Grandma Skelton. He looks so stinkin cute in it!

Our new little dude is only 10 days old and I am finally getting around to blogging about it. I have missed so much in the almost two months that I haven't blogged! We have some computer issues but here we are and here are baby pictures finally!!

At my last Dr's appointment my doctor told me that since we were planning on a C-section that the hospital would keep me if I went in feeling contractions. We figured it wouldn't happen and planned on going in for the scheduled c-section Tuesday the 21st. Well Saturday was one of Alex's best friends wedding. We went to the sealing and then that afternoon I started feeling contractions. They weren't anything big but they were progressively getting worse. We decided we would go to the hospital after the reception if they were still getting worse. They started to get pretty bad then of course stopped right before the reception. We were a bit bummed. Well Sunday afternoon they started up again. Probably on account of wrestling with a toddler at church ha! Anyways after church I decided to go outside and walk up and down the hill to try to get them worse and it worked. So we got in the car and headed to the hospital. They of course slowed way down because I was sitting down. We went anyways. I sat there in the bed all hooked up, the contractions were hardly anything, wondering why we even came in. The were just going to send us home. The nurse checked me and said I was hardly dilated. She went and called the doctor. I was about ready to just get dressed to go home ha! She came in and said that my doctor was already there doing another c-section so he figured he might as well do mine since we were both there. We were shocked and thrilled!! So theres the story. Long enough for you? haha!

So here were are getting ready to go in the OR. Last time was so stressful so it was kind of nice to actually know what was going on this time and to take pictures of us in our hot gowns :)

I just love this picture! Doesn't he look like the happiest Daddy!
He weighed 7 lb 10 oz and was 20 inches long! He seems so teeny to us compared to Kade who was 8 lb 11oz! So many of his outfits just fall off of him, outfits that Kade never could wear!

Now about the name. Many of you know that we had the name Ryker picked out. Well I saw him for about 2 seconds in the OR before they whisked him away to clean him up. Then I saw in recovery by myself for almost an hour and I just sat there thinking that his name wasn't Ryker. Alex has always loved the name Cardon, its his mothers mothers maiden name. I was never completely sold on it but after a couple of days of name debating we decided that the name just fit. Now I can't believe that we almost called him Ryker! He is perfectly a Cardon. His middle name is Bitner because President Hinkley is the prophet Alex and I grew up with.

Kade loves his brother so much! Cardon wasn't paying attention so Kade had to grab his face to kiss him!

My sister was on her mission until Kade was nine months old. One of the highlights this time around was actually having her there this time.

Kade really loves his little brother. The first time we were home I was up in the middle of the night feeding Cardon and I heard Kade awake in his room. So I went in to check on him. He was just looking for his binky so I gave it to him and he lied back down. Then he popped his head up and asked "Baby?" I told him the baby was sleeping and he just said "Oh" and then lied back down. I thought it was so cute that he remembered his brother and wondered where he was. He calls him "Coco" and I am told that while we were at the hospital he talked about coco all day. My Mom and sister in law took such good care of Kade. He had so much fun he probably didn't want to come home!

He even shares he toys. :)

Kade wanted to play in the snow so my sister and I went out with him and built a snow man. Can I just say how much fun it is to play in the snow with your kids?! I had a blast!

Kade calls glasses "Cool dude!" He needed to look cool to go out in the snow.

We are doing very well and happy to be a family of four! It is better than we thought it would be. Kade has adjusted very well and Cardon is such a good baby! He hardly ever screams, he just squeaks and usually calms down on his own. He is a good eater and sleeper. Last night he slept two 6 hour stretches only waking up once at 3:30! He is amazing!!

Wow, going through pictures I realized how big of a slacker I really have been!! So these are just a big mumbo jumbo of pictures that are WAY out of order from like the past two or three months. Sorry if you get bored! :)

He is nothing like me, he is a dare devil! haha! He has no problem jumping on the kitchen table either. I don't think I would even step over a ditch until I was like...18 ha!
We went camping and yes I slept on the ground six months pregnant. It actually wasn't TOO bad. But isn't this a cute picture of my two boys??
Kade loved it! He just ran around the campsite all night. Its lame but we have never been camping before, people told us it was funner with out kids but I thought it was a blast with Kade! It was so fun to see him enjoying it!
And then Kade woke up at like 4 in the morning, probably because he was cold. So what do you do? Build a fire and eat cookies!

Like I said, Kade loves to do whatever Dad is doing. Here it is P90X. Its pretty cute to see Kade copy what Alex is doing. And you know a toddler means mess making. But to him he is just getting a snack ready. Alex walked in the room to Kade pouring the crackers out on the plate. Doesn't he look so proud?? I swear not too long ago I was able to put things OUT of Kades reach by setting them on the table!

We take lots of bubble baths these days. It satisfies he water wishes and keeps him from making messes all over the house.. for like a half an hour. :)
He has mastered eating from a bowl and spoon on his own. I LOVE it! Whenever I talk about lunch he says two things. If it is something he knows is hot he says "Hot, Hot!" with a very concerned look on his face. Then he says "Mom Cold??" To make sure I will cool it down for him. I am not joking when I say we have this same conversation at least twenty times a day. It must really worry him ha! Then he asks me if he can have a bowl and a spoon. He is really proud that he can eat on his own!

We went to the pumpkin patch.. who didn't? Kade had a blast! He went down those slides SO many times and didn't want to leave.

These two are always playing and wrestling, its the cutest! When Kade was a newborn Alex was asking if he could start wrestling him yet. He has been looking forward to it for so long and I love watching them play together. Kade is so tough and loves to be thrown around its so cute!
We have been doing lots of painting... and Alex is a dork!
Again, copying Daddy. Alex has to lock the bathroom door when he shaves because Kade always wants the razor ha!

Kade loves Aunt Dayna! He asks about her almost everyday and then tells me that she is at "Skoo".
Wow... So that is some of what we have been doing. Kade is talking up a storm and I love to hear the things he tells us. He is such a fun boy and loves making us laugh! He will probably be a class clown because he loves attention and making people laugh so much! I'm really trying to enjoy my last few weeks with him. I'm a little nervous to have two kids. I know I can do it, all of you have, but I just don't know what its going to be like! I hope Kade will do ok, he does love babies right now. Only six more weeks! And BTW, a week or so ago this baby decided he would rather be breech. So that is where we are right now. Hope you are well! I'll try to stay better updated!

Freezer meals

I know I know I have been an awful blogger. I have plenty of pictures to blog about, I just haven't done it. But know that Kade is a cute as ever and I am getting fatter than ever ha!

The purpose of this post is to ask for your help. I am planning on having a c-section again with this cute little chubby baby. Last time it was a while before I felt like cooking or really doing anything. So I am planning to make some freezer meals this time. So that is where you come in. Please tell me some of your favorite freezer meals so that I can make there here in the next little while. I know a lot of you are far better than I at cooking so this will be a good chance for me to learn a bit. You can post them in a comment or email them to me at danelle_3@msn.com

Wow I've been neglectful! My sweet husband let me go to the high school pool to swim laps the other night while he stayed home with tater boy. I came home and pulled into the driveway of a dark house. I was really confused because it wasn't bed time yet. Then I walked in to find this!

How lucky is Kade?! His Dad built him a fort. He loved it so much. He kept going in there and just hanging out. It could have been due to the fact that there were cookies in the fort. ha!

I will post a better update later. We haven't had our camera for a while hence the slacking. But I do have pictures to post and I will get to that...sometime. :)

Pickin grapes

We have a concord grape vine in our yard. Kade loves to go over and pick the "balls" and eat them.

They are REALLY sour still, as you can see.

So maybe they are better just for throwing.

Either way he thinks the grapes are pretty GRRREAT! (Yeah I'm that cheesy ha!)

P.S. If you want to make grape juice this fall let me know. We will have TONS of extra grapes so come and get them! It will probably be another month or so at least before they are ready.

Hahaha this kid cracks me up! I know you're probably thinking "well he didn't just climb into the sink." So I will tell you how he ended up here. I was washing him up after his sticky snack, I feel like everything I was this kids hands and face its like giving him a quick bath in the sink! Anyways, I know of set him on the counter while washing him and he just climbed in. He was so excited I couldn't make him get down. Plus it keeps him busy. Silly boy. This really does give me hope for the winter though. I have been really worried how he would do inside all day.See look how happy he is!!

He even figured out how to make it spray.

The only problem is that he figured out how to turn the water up, so he's not just content with a little drizzle anymore ha!!

So much for keeping Kade dry today..

So this is jumbled and took FOREVER! I don't even know if blogging is worth it anymore. That was such a pain! But that's just my feelings right now. Hopefully they change. :) Anyways, this is probably a long boring post but for journaling purposes, here it is!

The big big big big boat as Kade would say.

Just an example of what Kade's ride was like. You do whatever you can to keep a kid happy in the car right? He actually did amazingly well!! He was so so good in the car for such a long drive!So we left Friday afternoon and stayed a couple nights with a friend in Vegas. This is to prove we were there.

We went to Monterrey Bay with Kade. We didn't tell him to kiss the fish, he just did. It was cute ... but also gross haha!
Kade followed these kids around, he was so fascinated with the boy on the lefts hair. He kept trying to touch it haha!!
Then Sunday afternoon after church we headed to Cali. Can I just say the the 82 degrees was far better than the 113 of Vegas?!?! We went for an evening beach walk.

Pictures are out of order of course but this was on the way down the stairs to the beach. Kade was so excited to get to the beach. He was not happy about turning around for a picture!
Then Monday morning my family made it to Cali. Quick story interjection. So my family left Sunday after church planning to stay the night in Vegas then finish the drive Monday morning. Well they forgot the folder with everybody's birth certificates and such. So they had to turn around. Luckily Jer's boyfriend met them part of the way and saved them several hours. So they had to drive all night to make it to Cali in time. Anyways, while we were waiting to board the ship we decided to go to the beach. We all got more soaked than we were thinking and had to board the ship in stinky wet clothes, but it was worth it.
This is pretty much what Kade did the whole time. He loved having his own little pool!
I know, I'm really brave letting them take my boy out there. The picture still scares me! I don't know what I was thinking!!
I just love this picture because obviously something funny is happening!

So on Catalina Island we decided to rent bikes. It really was a lot of fun, and kind of a circus. We looked like the Von Trapp family riding around town!

Kade did not love his helmet, but he looked so cute!

We decided it would be fun to see this bell tower thing or whatever it was. So we rode our BEACH CRUISERS UP the hill that the locals told us wasn't steep. Can I just say I was dying?! So we get all the way up there to find out they charge five dollars a person to walk even further to see it. We decided it wasn't really worth it...

And rode back down. :)

Also on the Island was a guy singing and playing his guitar. Kade loves to dance so he went up in front of him and started dancing. He was a hit. A huge crowd gathered around to watch him. It was hilarious! I wish I could post a video on here but its on the video camera and I don't know how to get it on here. Boo!
Of course we had to get a picture with the singer dude!

On the ship eating dinner.Ok #1 two hours is a long time for a one year old to spend eating dinner. We did what ever it took to keep him happy, ie eating butter packets. By the last couple of nights we figured out bringing the DVD player doy. It certainly helped!

#2 Maybe you all already know this but children don't eat great on vacation so.... we kind of just went with whatever. I don't know how he starved on that trip. He wouldn't eat!

And the melting cake! So so good! Kind of like Chili's molton lava cake. But we were craving melting cake when we got home so we went and got molton lava cake and it was so disappointing compared to the melting cake! It is sooo good!

This is in Ensendada. Its the bufadora or blow hole. Pretty cool actually. I would watch it forever. On the way up to the blow hole you walk along all these shops. Its cool because you can get cheap things but those guys are a bit overwhelming! Being in Ensenada made me so grateful for our lives. We really are so blessed. People from other countries really are so poor and they work so hard! The people working on our cruise ships work so so hard and never see their families. Again we are soo blessed!

I got on here to blog about our cruise, and then I decided the right thing to do would be to write in our family journal first since that is the lesser fun thing to do. I don't care if that is correct English or Grammar or whatever. So I did, and it had been a month so there was a lot to catch up on. And now I don't feel like spending another forever on here uploading pictures. So I compromised-ish. I uploaded a few random pictures just because... and because it makes Grandma happy. So here you go, if you want.... you are here so you probably do.

Anyways....

This is a new fav for Kade. Watching Elmo. He could watch this same video all day! Its a nice bribe actually. The other day I got him to clean his room, well pick up his toys, before watching Elmo. Can you believe it worked?! If you are really interested you can watch it here. He even has his own keyboard, an old one that was lying around. When he wants to watch Elmo he brings you his key board. When you are at the computer he brings you his key board and climbs into your lap and asks for Elmo. So if you were wondering, that was the story behind two keyboards.
But if you leave the other room for a minute you will come back to this...

In the past month we have.....

*Gone bowling/mini golfing with Brandy and the boys

Kade thought it was so frustrating that he couldn't pick up those heavy bowling balls haha!! And he kept going to the air thing (where he is in the picture) and saying "Ahhh" and lying his face on the air. He's so funny!

*Gardening and irrigating.

Kade loves the water! He had a blast splashing in the little puddles.

Here is the El Jardine!! Well part of it. This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago and since then it has grown so much with all the rain! So I will update on the garden shortly. The other day we got 7 strawberries! I was thrilled!

* Learning new tricks. He thought this was funny walking along the foot rests. Probably because it was risky.. We are wondering how long this kid will go with out stitches or a broken arm. He loves to climb on things. He likes to climb up on boxes or laundry baskets and dance, he likes to climb on that futon and try to climb up the back. We are needing to watch him closer and closer. Such a funny kid!

* Polishing shoes........ He is so wierd!!

Teasing Mom! When I get them I will post them because I am sure they are cute!

Also I tried to post a video of Kade dancing. I'm so so bummed it didn't work because I think its hilarious!! I will try to put it on facebook so look there. Kade is always dancing, even when he is eating. Its hilarious. He certainly has a beat in his head constantly.

Oh and the best part of the "latly's" is NOT THROWING UP!! I have hardly been sick with this one. Weird I know but I'll take it!! Its going by so much faster and I am soo grateful that this pregnancy is going so well! Its almost no real, except I can already tell my pants are getting tighter. Boo!!!

Weeding

And of course they are out of order because thats just the way blogger is.

The other night after family scripture study Kade just carried the Book of Mormon all around the house with him. I think he is preparing. :)

So a couple of nights ago we decided we need to encourage Kade more to eat, or at least TRY what we are eating. You can tell by the look on his face it didn't go over so well. It was a night of tantrums, food throwing, kicking and screaming. He actually went to bed hungry, not because we made him but because he got so mad that he we couldn't get him to eat ANYTHING. But I am happy to report that the next night went MUCH better. The battle wasn't totally lost. But I will say this : THE BOY HAS SOME DETERMINATION!! And we really haven't a clue where he got it. ;)
Our MANY stormy days are spent like this. He is like a puppy dog, he whines and bangs on the door ALL DAY LONG!

Once in a while the door is unlatched and he can sneak out.

Freedom!!!! (why is everything underlined all of a sudden!!? Bah!)

But then something like this happens... We are referring to the bruise, not the motorcycle. The motorcycle is probably one of the reasons he tries to escape. But it just so happens to make little boys bruises feel better.

He spends so much time at the door sometimes he just has to lie down and relax haha!

This wasn't staged. He took Dads cycling hat and put it on himself. He looked so cute in it! (Yay! No more underlines!!!)

This toilet paper was good for some quantity entertainment. He played on it for days... until Mom got sick of it being in the living room.

Kade loved "helping" me clean out the fridge.

You can tell by the look on his face haha. We actually get lots of comments about the faces Kade makes. I guess he's just a really expressive kid.

We went to this cute little ice cream shop tonight. We decided to get Kade a little cone. It was so cute watching him eat it! Yes, he made a horrific mess. But it really was so fun. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him enjoy his cone. Alex was very worried about the stickiness. That is one of his big pet peeves haha! Convenient for being a Father isn't it? :)

We didn't really plan ahead so no camera. These are taken with my phone so that is why the quality is so bad.

Major bed head!! He seriously loves this chair! I turned on Baby Einsteins the other day and he stayed in the chair the whole time! Not normal for our tater boy. He did try to stand up in the chair a few times.
He knows how to use a thermometer!
He just loves to sit in or on things that are just his size. He thinks its the greatest!
I just thought this was so cute. Kade wanted to play video games with Daddy. I was folding laundry, hence the clothes all over the place

The garden

So this is how we started. Isn't all that rock so purty!? Nope, we HATE it!

Stupid rock, as far as the eye can see.
So we brought in this guy. Cute old man from our ward who likes to drive his tractor. I honestly don't think we'd have a garden with out him!

Progress...(I tried to turn in the other way)

Tada! A garden!! And a few fruits trees! Yay!It looks way easier that it really was. It took two days to get the rock up, three trips to the dumb to get rid of our beloved rocks (and that stuff was not easy to unload), lots of raking and picking up rocks, Rodotilling sp? (That is harder than I thought!), three truck loads to get manure (From Hooper, over an hour round trip), then more raking. But we are there! Now we just need to plant!

Also I am POSITIVE we wouldn't have a harden without the muscle man pictured above! Alex is amazing! He worked so so hard. I was so so sore from working in the yard and Alex works 4 times as hard as I do. He's the best!

The buzz

So here's the story. Alex wanted a buzz. So I granted his wish and buzzed his hair. Alex, being the patient person that he is kept saying "are you done yet?!" I said "I am just going over the whole thing again to make sure I don't leave any pieces sticking out". Its a pet peeve of mine to see buzzed hair with long hairs sticking out everywhere. But Alex said " Oh its fine just let me shower and we can fix it later if there are any long hairs". And so it was. Maybe one minute later Alex came walking out of the bathroom toward the buzzers saying "You suck at cutting hair" Before I could do anything about it Alex stuck a guard on and started buzzing. I had used a three ...and he was using a one. Its hard to tell in the picture but the right side of his hair is significantly shorter than the rest. So what do you do? Buzz the rest with a one. He looks like a cancer patient. But cute as ever as you can tell!! haha!!Oh but the story doesn't stop there. Kade wakes up from his nap. I see a light come on in Alex's head. I'm thinking "Finally!" But then... this is what happens.

My baby boy! All his cute hair!! Alex wanted to use the number 1, I said "How about a three?"

And then because I "suck" at cutting hair, I finished things up.

Now that Kade has a buzz he doesn't look like a baby anymore, he looks like a little boy. I guess I have to accept the fact that he is growing up!

The birthday party!

So Kade's Birthday was on Thursday. We had the party on Friday, but we still had some partying on Thursday. Daddy brought him balloons from work and they were a hit! We actually had to hid them because he wanted to play with them non stop and he would get so frustrated with them for floating away!
We took Kade swimming at a local pool that night. Ignore my glamorous legs. Kade just looked so cute in his suit and sandals!
After swimming we got cafe rio because we had a FREE MEAL!!! (The capitals are for the effect of the employees yelling). They also gave us a tres leches for Kades birthday. I'm glad they actually believed us since it was April Fools.

I stayed up that night and worked on the cake. I cut out paper and drew the cake and practiced on the fake cake.

The cake. Can you tell what it is?? Ok, fine I'll tell you. Its a Mr. Potato head. We call Kade Tater boy, and Kader potater, so I thought a Mr. Potato head cake was fitting. I know you all want me to make birthday cakes now... haha!!

We watched a friends five kids while her and her husband went out of town for a few days. It actually wasn't too bad and I think I still want a big family. :)

This is like a dream and I can't believe its actually happening! Kade has brought more happiness to us that we ever though possible! He is such a sweet fun boy ( and a bit of a tease). So lately Kade likes lying on soft things and saying "Ahhh" Its so cute! This video is funny for two reasons. His Ahhh is cute and he conked Alex pretty good! Its funny to see Alex's reaction. I shouldn't laugh when he is in pain!

Right now Kade is loving this stroller. We have been going on walks in the evenings but he comes and home and still wants to ride in the stroller. So we push him around the house in it. He just chills in there and bounces his legs, its pretty cute.

He also loves playing the piano these days. He goes over there several times a day and ask to play the piano.
He's just handsome

We're getting there! Almost walking. He's got the standing down pretty well.
Laundry baskets are always fun to play in.

So the hangy things on Alex's pants are part of his cycling pants, not a jock strap as my mother thought haha!

If you know the Skelton family, you know they love books. If they all weren't such good people they would probably get into really big fights over books. I am thinking Kade has picked up on the gene. He often crawls into his room to the books and just hangs out. These pictures weren't staged. He really does go from book to book, turns the pages and picks them up. Oh I think he is so cute!

I think this one is my favorite. He looks so mature haha!

And to answer your coupon questions : There were a couple of reasons they were so cheap. First of all I used the bogo coupon that came with red plum in the mail. My neighbor let me use hers too. Also, Smiths was having a sale where you buy two and then get a four dollar Catalina (which is kind of like a gift card). I did lots of different transactions and just did two detergents at a time and put the Catalina towards the next transaction. But Smiths isn't doing the Catalina sale for the laundry detergent anymore and that was what made it such a killer deal. Sorry. :(

I got all of this for twenty dollars! Well $20.03 actually!!

And the soup actually cost more, it was sixteen dollars for all the soup (16 cans). Not EXTREMELY great, but Alex can take them to work for lunch. Its the chunky soup so its usually more like two or three dollars a can but I got it for one dollar each.

But you can do the math for the most exciting part!! All of the laundry detergent was only FOUR DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And just in case you can't see close enough to count there are TWENTY bottles! And they are each 32 loads. If you can't tell I am very excited about it! I am thinking this will last me well over a year. For FOUR DOLLARS!!! Yeah hoo!!!

Kade has been having a very sad day, well week. Just a little on the whiny, crying side. I think he is teething. So when he pointed me around the house until we got to the pantry I had to give in to him grabbing the bucket of oatmeal. It was cute and the happiness lasted for about 15 minutes or so. Totally worth it. He was so cute!

You may call this a picture overload but the Grandma's say there is no such thing. :)

Apparently they taste funny.

P.S. Did anyone else know that oatmeal doesn't like the vacuum cleaner?

Sorry for the picture overload! These two are just so cute together!! Kade is always wondering where the puppy is. And the puppy follows Kade around. Its pretty cute.

By the way we decided to name him Kal-el. I sure hope I am spelling that right. It is superman's"real" name. Of course Alex would name his dog that. :)
