Freezer meals

I know I know I have been an awful blogger. I have plenty of pictures to blog about, I just haven't done it. But know that Kade is a cute as ever and I am getting fatter than ever ha!

The purpose of this post is to ask for your help. I am planning on having a c-section again with this cute little chubby baby. Last time it was a while before I felt like cooking or really doing anything. So I am planning to make some freezer meals this time. So that is where you come in. Please tell me some of your favorite freezer meals so that I can make there here in the next little while. I know a lot of you are far better than I at cooking so this will be a good chance for me to learn a bit. You can post them in a comment or email them to me at danelle_3@msn.com

Thanks!!!

When red bell peppers go on sale we make a huge batch of fajita mix and put it in the freezer! It works great, break off a hunk, heat it up, throw on some cheese and hot sauce and roll it up in a tortilla!

I feel the same way and I don't have a c-section! Just about any casserole type dish can be frozen and then cooked. I often just double the recipe when I make it and stick half in the freezer. The dollar store is great place to get some disposable pans. We've done meatballs & gravy, enchiladas, soups, ham and potato casserole, lasgnas, burritos, etc.

Another great thing to do is to get your hamburger and chicken and pre-cook it and then freeze it. Then it's just that much easier to to throw dinner together.

Make a big batch of soup or chili and freeze in tupperware containers. Lasagna freezes well. Also check out this website http://www.lynnskitchenadventures.com/2010/04/freezer-cooking-plan.html She does a lot of these. Below the main post on that link there are some tips for how to prevent freezer burn and what containers to use and the sort. Have fun!

Hey Danelle! Do you know the swiss chicken recipe with the stove top stuffing and cream of mushroom soup by chance?? It's in about every ward cook book that I can think of. Anyway, that's a great one for freezing. That, and ritz chicken. Any soups are usually good to freeze too. Broccoli cheese! Yummm Oh, and tater tot casserole is another one, it has hamburger in it. That's another one that's usually in a ward cook book. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!

I'd be happy to get together with you to make some one day. My friend Jessica has a whole book full of them that we could borrow.

ohmygosh you're having your baby so soon! CRAZY! So there's a lady in my stake back home who does freezer meals always! Every meal is a freezer meal b/c they had like 9 kids or something so she would just spend one saturday a month cooking for the whole month... SO for our wedding they gave us a little cookbook of their recipes... sounds like you've already got some great tips so far, but let me know if you want more recipes and i'll e-mail em. PS- Yes it's fun to be blogging again! :) The internet is a great thing. :)
