Un-private

In case you didn't notice we took our blog off private.. just cuz :) So I think that means you will have to re-add us to your lists. Don't know why it works that way silly blog stuff.

4 weeks old!

I can't believe how fast time goes! Wishing it would slow down doesn't help at all in fact I swear it only makes him grow faster! Kade is getting more and more fun. He is becoming so aware of things around him. He will follow us with his eyes when we move its so cute. I love it when he looks at me. Sometimes it seems like he wants to say something. Boy he is the cutest boy ever! He has been such a good sleeper! We have been working on a schedule a little bit. Not to the point where we don't feed him if he is hungry but we just try to be consistent with him and the schedule just kind of works itself out. I don't know how to explain it but the book baby wise sure is amazing! Anyways, the last 4 nights he has only gotten up once to eat. It usually is around the same time. Last night it wasn't so I thought he was going to get up twice but he just slept extra long after he ate. He is such a good boy we are so blessed to have him!

So I have mentioned before that Kade sleeps with his arms up like this. My sister in law said that she heard that meant babies are secure when they sleep like that and really that thrills me to know that he is secure. But his hands and arms are always ice cold! We put him in long sleeves at night but his hands are still cold. Its not that he just likes to sleep with his hands up, he cant stand having them in blankets. We have tried putting little receiving blankets over his arms when they are up and he gets his arms out. We have tried wrapping the blankets around his arms, he gets them out. We have tried putting socks over his hands, get gets them off!! He just hates having his arms and hands covered silly boy! Sometimes he even kicks his blanket off like in the picture above. But I think that is just from his usual kicking. We have a space heater in there but the rest of him is warm its just his hands. I figure if he was really that cold he would wake up right? Anyways I just wanted to share that because its so funny how much he hates his arms in.

Kade also loves his bath time! I have video of it but I don't know how to put it on the blog yet. He usually plays in there for about a half an hour he loves it so much. But he HATES the lotion part! He screams harder that ever when we are putting lotion on him.

Sometimes when Kade is sleeping he makes these hilarious faces! HE looks all scrunched up like he is about to cry and then goes suddenly relaxed. It is so funny! It doesn't sound funny but when we get it on video I will have to prove it to you ha! Its hard to get it on video!

We just love this little boy so much! I love being a mom! It really is the most rewarding thing in life! I know I don't have much to go off of yet but I love it already! I know it will be challenging at times but that's what makes it so rewarding right? I have always wanted to be a mom. Its always been my dream. I was thinking last night that all I care about it being a good mom. I don't want to let my projects or a dirty house take priority over my kids. I know that is so much easier said than done and you have to find balance in everything. But I always want my kids to know that they are the most important thing in my life. Family really is all that matters. Everything else in life is for family. We go to work to provide for our family, you go school to get a good job to provide for your family and so on. I know there will be times that I will get overwhelmed and say what was I thinking! But hopefully I will always remember how I feel about the importance of family and I wont put anything else first.

I thought my baby was little!

Our neighbors the Lintons had their baby on Thursday and he sure is a cutie! We took Kade over the meet his new little buddy and I just had to take a picture. I feel like Kade is so little but just look at him next to Caleb! Caleb was 7 pounds 4 ounces so Kade had a pound and a half on him to start with. Its amazing what a couple pounds can do! I always thought Kade was so small when he was born but its crazy to see other new borns!

Kade looks like he is trying to eat him!

Alex the whipping boy!

So Alex's Dad liked to collect random things and this weekend Alex's brother Bryan found a whip and Alex has been trying ever so fervently to get it to crack. In fact his niece even called him "Alex the whipping boy"! So last night he decided to go to my parents neighbors the Mundens who are pros at this and ask for some help. Apparently whip cracking is quite an art! Alex's whip is what they called a "man's whip". They even had some trouble getting it to crack. It even bit Kevin and he has a huge welt on his neck and nose from it. I didn't get a picture and I regret it! But here are some pictures of Alex whipping. He almost got it! I don't have any pictures of the event but this weekend Alex rode in the Salt Lake Marathon. They have cyclists go before the runners. He told me he was just going to take it easy and have fun. Well he came home with a really REALLY giddy school boy look. I don't think I have ever seen him so excited. He took about 15th place out of 1500 riders! (It's not exactly A RACE but the guys in front treat it like one) I guess he got so excited he decided not to "just take it easy". So good job Alex!

And of course we need a picture of cute little Kade! This is how he sleeps! He can't stand to have his arms in a blanket! He always gets them out somehow!

Two week appointment.

Yesterday we took Kade to his two week appointment. I can't believe that he is two weeks already yet I can't believe that he has only been here for two weeks. Its seems like we have had him forever!! He is such a good good baby and we love him to pieces! A few nights ago he only got up once! He slept for 6 hours straight! We went to our chiropractor and he adjusted Kade too. He didn't pop anything he just put his finger on pressure points and it totally relaxed Kade. The chiropractor said he would sleep well that night and he sure did! But most nights Kade only gets up twice to eat anyways. We are so spoiled! Anyways back to the doctor. Kade weighs 8 14 now so he has gained 3 ounces since his birth weight. He is in the 75th percentile for weight. He is a big boy! Anyways here is a picture of the cute little guy and then a picture of Alex on his new bike. He went for a quick ride last night, yes in the rain, that's how excited he is!

Isn't Alex such a cute Daddy!

I can't believe our baby is one week old already!!!

We just love this little boy so much I can't believe it! I can't stop looking at him he is just a beautiful boy! We came home Sunday morning and we love having him here. Its just fun have a family! Our first night with him I kept waking up to check on him to make sure he was still breathing. I was kind of out of it but after a while I realized that I was waking up about every 3 minutes to check on him ha! The second night went a lot better. We were told to try and keep him up from 4 -8 at night and that would help him sleep better at night. We have been trying but that was the first night we got somewhere. We kept him up for almost three hours. This kid loves to sleep but what newborn doesn't? He slept awesome, he only woke up to eat and then went back to sleep. I got a whole 8 hours!! Last night I was holding him and he was actually awake. I love just looking into his beautiful eyes. I just felt overwhelmed with love for him and I started crying just thinking how much I love him. I just can't believe that he is our little baby. I just hope that I can teach him everything he needs to know and that I can raise him the way I should. Being a parent is the most amazing thing in the whole world. I have reached a whole new level of exhaustion which I know will just get worse but I am the happiest I have ever been in my life! Alex amazes me with how great of a Dad he is. It is so sweet to see how much he love and cares about Kade. He has been so helpful and sweet to me. I keep trying to get up and do more than I should but Alex makes me sit down and does EVERYTHING. Even though he is lacking on sleep as well and has to work at five in the morning. He is just that amazing! I couldn't have found a better partner to be going through this with. And one more thing, I have the most amazing little sister ever. She stayed the night with me last night and got up to help me all night and tidied up the house for me! She is awesome! We have been so blessed with so many caring friends and family members! Thanks to you all! A blanket thank you will have to do for now until I can get caught up on thank cards and such. Thanks!

More on Kade

*** Warning this is a long one, I wont be offended if you don't read it all. :)
We have been so so blessed with this little boy! People have been asking about labor so I will tell a little about it. We had more complications that I thought we would have but it was not nearly as traumatic as I thought it would be. I had myself pretty freak out by the time we showed up at the hospital Tuesday morning! Ok so they started me at 8 a.m. with pitocen and other things that I don't really know what they are :) I totally hated getting the IV and I tell you that part is FAR worse than the epidural! They broke my water at about 12:30 and that got things moving along quickly! I started feeling a lot of contractions and pretty close together. So we did that for about an hour before I got the epidural and that thing is from HEAVEN!!! It doesn't hurt at all its seriously the easiest part! I had myself way too freaked out! So we sat around and played games for a while. Funny little side note, I was really paranoid about my epidural falling out and I kept telling them that. After I while I could feel my left leg so they told me to lay on my side and keep pushing the button. Well it didn't get better and I started to feel contractions. So the epidural dude came in and just put more medicine in the tube. About 15 minutes later I looked at Alex and said something is not right. I could kick both my legs in the air. So the nurse looked at my epidural and lo and behold it had fallen out! SO I wasn't totally crazy!! This was just has I was totally effaced and dilated! Well they put it back in before I had to start pushing. So we started pushing about a quarter to one in the morning. Pushed for an hour, then called the doctor, pushed for about an hour with him. Then he said this guy isn't going anywhere lets let the contractions work for a little bit then push some more and if he doesn't come out we might have to do a C-section. Yeah, I started bawling! I was just frustrated because I had been working so hard. Sorry this is getting WAY too long! Anyways, tried with the forceps and he just didn't come out so we did end up with a C-section but it went great! Kade came healthy and happy. We have been so blessed! I keep expecting something to go wrong but Kade has been wonderful! I am recovering SO well. I have been up and walking around today and yesterday and I really feel awesome! Thanks everything for being so supportive! Sorry that was forever long! Here are a few more pictures. I know I look totally glamorous!

t

So after these silly little shots go to Toni Carrolls blog (click on her name) and see the pictures she took of Kade. This girl is incredible gifted!! Also she did have a good looking baby to work with :) But she is mostly just amazing!!! Enjoy the pictures she took.

Here he is!

This isn't much but its a preview of the beautiful little boy! I had no idea I would be able to love him this much! He is so perfect!I just can't stop staring at him. He is a great sleeper (thus far), great eater and he is really just perfect! He was born April 1st, I guess I got jinxed for saying I didn't want an April fools baby ha! Labor was about 20 hours but then we ended up with a C-section which really wasn't bad at all. I had complications but labor was still not as bad as I thought it would be. It was really an amazing experience! Anyways, he was born at 4:09 Tuesday morning weighing 8 pounds and 11 ounces and 21 inches long. Big boy huh! He has lots of perfect dark hair and he looks soo much like his Daddy! We will get more pictures up as soon as we can!
