So Alex's Dad liked to collect random things and this weekend Alex's brother Bryan found a whip and Alex has been trying ever so fervently to get it to crack. In fact his niece even called him "Alex the whipping boy"! So last night he decided to go to my parents neighbors the Mundens who are pros at this and ask for some help. Apparently whip cracking is quite an art! Alex's whip is what they called a "man's whip". They even had some trouble getting it to crack. It even bit Kevin and he has a huge welt on his neck and nose from it. I didn't get a picture and I regret it! But here are some pictures of Alex whipping. He almost got it! I don't have any pictures of the event but this weekend Alex rode in the Salt Lake Marathon. They have cyclists go before the runners. He told me he was just going to take it easy and have fun. Well he came home with a really REALLY giddy school boy look. I don't think I have ever seen him so excited. He took about 15th place out of 1500 riders! (It's not exactly A RACE but the guys in front treat it like one) I guess he got so excited he decided not to "just take it easy". So good job Alex!
And of course we need a picture of cute little Kade! This is how he sleeps! He can't stand to have his arms in a blanket! He always gets them out somehow!

Wow! I'm sure he'll get it to crack. And that's a darling pic of Kade.
I told you if he's sleeping like that it means he feels safe and secure...what good parents!!!
nice work alex! that's awesome! good luck with the whip. and what a cute picture of kade! he totally makes me excited. 3 more days!!! and i can't wait to see how caleb sleeps because he's had his hands up in a cross over his face in every single ultrasound. fun fun!!
So what is it that makes the whip "crack"? And how are Alex's legs so white if he rides his bike?
Kade is so cute! He looks so cute and cuddly sleeping there.
What a great post! I only wish I was there to participate in the cracking that whip. I love that you went to the Munden's. Seriously though why would you go anywhere else? Kade is so adorable!
Wow! Good work Alex! That's amazing!
I am so happy for you both! What a cute little boy and little family! We actually just found out that we are having a little boy in September. Be grateful you didn't have to go through the HOT summer . . . needless to say we are ecstatic. I love the new bike. It seems like the perfect fit for a great rider!
